Planning your wedding

by admin on February 6, 2011

Getting your wedding organized and up and running is seriously hard. People usually say that they had no idea how hard it was until they actually had to organize one, and that’s really the truth. You need to think about things as elaborate as color schemes for the reception and what songs to play when it’s time to dance, and also things as seemingly small and specific, but very important also, like the flowers in the bouquet or the bride’s wedding garters. It’s so many things to think about that it can be a bit overwhelming. It’s natural that the people that are the most into organizing the wedding, usually the bride and groom and a couple of more family members and close friends, feel like they’re a bit in over their heads and request help from a more knowledgeable person.

A wedding planner does not necessarily fit the stereotype that you see in movies or in television. Unless you hire one specifically to do that, the wedding planner will not completely take over organizing everything by his or herself and leave very little input up to you. You need to look at the wedding planner as more of a facilitator: someone who has insider knowledge and experience in the wedding business and can work with you to get things done.
